Staff Officer Position responsibilities.
Overall responsible for the command. Responsible for the good and the bad. Is responsible to every member of the command.
Works with the CO to communicate with parents and other registered family members. Answers questions that come from parents of cadets regarding unit operations.
Responsible for the overall conduct and administration, discipline of the unit operations. Responsible to the commanding officer for all unit operational events.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the unit. Authors the plan of the day and submits it to the commanding officer for approval. Ensures plan of the day schedule is followed and training is a properly conducted by the divisions and division officers. With the assistance of the ombudsmen coordinates and plans offsite activities and official events. Responsible to the Executive Officer.
Ensure all service records for both cadets and staff are 100% accurate. Conducts intake of new staff members and cadets. Create local training orders and advanced training orders. Maintain records of all staff and cadets’ emails, phone numbers, addresses, and positions within the unit. Responsible to the Executive Officer.
Responsible for ensuring all cadets receive proper uniforms. When directed to do so responsible for issuing out rating badges and ribbons and associated items to the before mentioned. Responsible for the ordering and inventory of all uniform components. Ultimately responsible to the operations officer.
Responsible for the overall recruiting activities of the unit. Responsible for checking Magellan for incoming referrals and managing incoming cadet and adult staff applications. Responsible for setting up a command orientation for perspective cadets and prospective parents/staff. Is responsible to the operations officer.
DIVISION / TRAINING OFFICERS
Responsible for all platoon operations. Supervise the battalion chief and SLPO during day-to-day unit operations. Responsible for maintaining good order and discipline within the platoons. Responsible for keeping track of promotions and coursework for each cadet in Their platoon. Responsible to the operations officer.
BATTALION CHIEF / SLPO
Responsible for day-to-day operations of their perspective platoon. Responsible for making sure every cadet in their platoon is well groomed has the appropriate uniform and conducts themselves appropriately during drill. Directly responsible to their division officer.
LEADING PETTY OFFICERS
Leads their perspective platoons in completing the plan of the day in a safe and efficient manner. Directly responsible to the battalion chiefs.
ASSISTANT LEADING PETTY OFFICERS
Works with the leading petty officer to ensure muster and chow money is collected. Directly responsible to the leading very officer.
Responsible for each member of their squad. Squad leaders are responsible to the assistant leading petty officer.
